Venus Pool

“Venus Pool” is a landscape that I painted while living on the Island of Maui. It is a pool that changes color with the seasons. When the pool is landlocked with rocks and sand, the fresh water from the stream that feeds it, turns it green because of the algae that grows in the warm water. When the waves from the ocean break down the rocks that hold the fresh water, the ocean rushes in and the salt water pool turns the beautiful aqua color that you see in my painting.
